USDP kick starts election campaign in Northern Arakan

Kaladan Press: Maungdaw, Arakan State: The Union Solidarity Development Party (USDP)’s members, especially the candidates have kick started their election campaign since yesterday, according to a Maungdaw USDP member.

The USDP candidates started mobilizing local people from Maungdaw south yesterday in six jeeps which left from Maungdaw at 7:00 hours and returned in the evening. The group started campaigning in Myinnhlut (Mayrullah), Alelthankyaw (Hassurata) and Gawdutharya.
The nominated members of USDP are: Aung Zaw Win, Mater Jangir Alam, Zahidul RaHaman alias Htay Win, Mya Aung and Master Tha Htin from Maungdaw Township. Among them, Aung Zaw Win ( Arakanese Rohingya) was selected as the upper house candidate and Master Jangir Alam and Mya Aung ( Arakanese Rakhine) were selected as lower house candidates, according to USDP official.
For Buthiduang, the nominated candidates are: Shwe Maung, Dr. Bashir, Than Shwe and Aye Htun, where Shwe Maung (Arakanese Rohingya) was selected as the upper house candidate with Dr. Bashir and Than Shwe (Arakanese Rakhine) selected for the lower house.
The USDP candidates will start campaigning among local people from Northern Maungdaw on August 28.

Meanwhile, a group of Arakanese Rohingya ( Nurul haque, Tayubwaddin, Shawkut Ali and Soe Win) arrived in Maungdaw yesterday night from Akyab through Magyichaung of Maungdaw – Alethankyaw - Magyichaung highway (proposed road) in jeeps for campaigning, which they had registered a political party in election commissioner , a politician from Maungdaw said.
